Daily Prayer
… is the largest of our four services and uses the modern Anglican ‘Common Worship’. This provides a reliable weekly anchor point in often busy lives. The worship is always recognisably familiar, whilst also fresh and relevant to the needs of a new week. The rhythm of confession, forgiveness, sharing of peace, teaching, sharing in the Lord’s supper, and sending out aims to build people up individually and corporately. Worship is led by organ, piano and choir, with occasional use of orchestral instruments – and on special occasions – our lovely, professional quality glockenspiel. And we pride ourselves on a high standard of preaching that engages both with scripture and with real life issues.
The congregation at 10.30 a.m. is diverse. Perhaps because of this it is an easy place to make friends and to encounter people from other parts of the world. We have a large number of families. Children have their own programme which begins at 10.20 a.m. The children join the adult congregation for the distribution of holy communion. We rejoice in a particularly large number of babies and very small children. The service usually lasts about an hour and twenty minutes. After worship in church we serve coffee downstairs in the hall. We also have a well-stocked bar, where Johan Depyper and his bar team will be happy to serve you something a little stronger. Once a month, a long-established “Bun Sunday’ sees an extremely popular sale of cakes, buns and quiches for benefit of some of Holy Trinity’s mission partners.
