Pastoral Care at Holy Trinity Brussels

“Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn”. Romans 12:15

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Cor.1: 3-4

Holy Trinity is a city centre church with a widely dispersed membership, bringing together people from 40 different nations. Within this context of rich cultural and linguistic diversity we endeavour to offer helpful and appropriate pastoral care across all of our congregations.

Pastoral care is shared among many people throughout our congregations and people are invited to contact the chaplains and the pastoral assistant over pastoral matters. Care can be shown in a variety of ways according to what is needed and requested.

Pastoral resources include

Weekly Sunday Worship

Music, liturgy, preaching, prayer, sacrament and fellowship to move and encourage people in their walk with God.

Each other

Probably one of the most potent and useful resources we have and not to be overlooked!

Counselling, Pastoral Meetings and Home Visits

For a listening ear or to talk something over in a confidential environment, Janet Sayers our lay pastoral assistant is available for pastoral meetings and counseling by appointment. Sharing a concern, a dilemma, a question or a joyful thanksgiving with another person is a support. This may come through prayer, a conversation, or more regular meetings of a pastoral nature.

Prayer Chain

For confidential prayer requests contact Ann Fieldsend on 02/735 1997 or Mary-Jo Nimmons on 02/640 50 18.

Hospital Visits

Paulina Robbins van Rijn is our hospital visitor and has some expertise in the workings of the Belgian health service. Contact: One of the Chaplains, the church administrator or Paulina on 02/375 2320.

Home Communions

Holy Communion at home or in hospital can be arranged through the chaplains or the lay pastoral assistant.
