Born and brought up in Liverpool, Janet first visited Belgium at the age of 11, in her last year at primary school, when she joined a school trip to Bruges. A memorable and formative experience (she especially loved the food!), little did she know that she would eventually live more than half her life in Belgium, let alone become a Belgian citizen in 2017!

Although French-speaking and technically able to identify as ‘Anglo-Belge’, she is deeply grateful for the warm welcome she has always experienced from her Belgian neighbours and friends - now fellow-citizens - and feels happily at home here.

Janet loves music, ballet, opera, the cinema and being at the seaside, especially walking the coastal paths in Brittany. Following many years of pastoral counselling and accompaniment experience, Janet continues, transferring her skills as a Pastoral Mentor for young people who are engaged in discerning a possible vocation on the Diocesan Ministry Experience Scheme (MES), which was launched in Europe in 2015.
